Happy Halloween
Our Halloween didn't exactly go as planned. We thought Julianna would love running to all the houses with the other kids this year but we were very wrong. The picture below is about how our Halloween went
After about 5 meltdowns in 10 minutes we snatched her up and said we were going home. When we got back to the car and put her down in the grass her whole attitude changed. All she wanted to do is run around in the peoples front yards and climb up and down the steps. She enjoyed all the trick or treaters walking by telling her how cute she was. So even though she only made it to one house successfully she had a blast on our friend's neighbors front yard and steps. Maybe next year she will get it and mommy and daddy will get some candy :)
Only smile we got!
Only house we made it to
Happy playing in the yard
We were torturing her making her trick or treat. Geeeezze, what kid of parents are we :)
Happy to be home!

Julianna's going to be a big sister!
Julianna is going to be a big sister in May!!!! I am 12 weeks along. We had a couple issues but the doctor gave us a clean bill of health on Thursday and said we can't start spreading te news!! We couldn't be more excited. May 9th get here soon!
We have had such an exciting last two weeks! Papa Do came to stay with us for a week and boy did Julianna have a fun time! We took her to the Texas State Fair where she ate funnel cake and her first icecream cone. She loved petting the animals and watch the thousands of people there.
Roses is here this weekend and we took her to the pumpkin patch. She didn't seem to care about the pumpkins at all but loved running around the field and riding in a wagon.
She loves to smile for her Roses!
She's learning so much!!!
Julianna has quite the fro!! She got my curls!

1st Birthday and More
Wow it has been WAY too long since we last posted! Sorry for the delay.
Julianna turned ONE on June 30th. We got to celebrate her birthday by spending 9 days in Michigan with all the family. We had such a good time celebrating Gramma Jo, Aunit Ang, Uncle Joey and her birthday while we were there. It seemed like there was a celebration of some kind every night. We were also very excited that Roses and Papa Ken got to join us for 5 days of our trip. They hadn't seen most of Aldo's side of the family since the wedding. We enjoyed seeing all the family, swimming at Pop's pool, and all the good food we could stuff ourselves with.
On Julianna's birthday she wasn't feeling good at all (fever and ear infection) but she was a trooper and made it through. She loved her cake, once she got into it, and thought it was so funny to clap while she had cake on her hands.
Julianna also learned to walk right after her birthday. She is zooming all over the house now. She also likes to climb over all the barricades we have set up. There is no stopping her now.
We found a daycare that we really like. She has gone a couple days a week and is all smiles when we pick her up. It's a different story when we drop her off though :( Hopefully she will start to get used to it and eventually won't cry when we leave. I start back working full time tomorrow.

WOW, I can't believe Julianna will be a year old in a few weeks! We are really looking forward to spending her birthday in Michigan. We will be up there from June 26-July 5. She is crawling all over the house and walks using one of her walkers. She will be running all over the house soon.
For anyone who hasn't heard, I will be going back to teach in the fall. I am very happy to be returning to my old school Roach MS and will be teaching 8th grade math. Being home with Julianna this year was such a blessing but I am excited to return to the classroom.
Aldo and I took Julianna to the Dallas Zoo a couple weeks ago. Below are some pictures from our trip.

Crawling
Julianna finally learned to crawl today!!! I probably took 15 videos trying to catch it on tape for daddy and finally resorted to bribing her with snacks :) Looks like Aldo and I will be baby proofing the house tonight! Life is about to be all about chasing her down!

Happy Easter and 9 Months
We took Julianna to the Omni Mandalay in Las Colinas for a mini Easter staycation. We arrived at the hotel on Saturday afternoon and headed straight to the room to put on our swimsuits and go to the heated pool. We were so excited to get Julianna to the pool that we forgot her suitcase at home :(. Aldo, being the sweet husband that he is, drove back to the house while Julianna and I took some pictures outside at the hotel. Aldo got back just in time for us to have a little pool time.
On Sunday, the hotel had a large brunch complete with petting zoo, Easter bunny, and lots of Easter eggs. Julianna liked the little bunnies. The weather wasn't great and the wind was blowing like crazy but we managed to get some good pictures.
Julianna turned 9 months on March 30th. She weighs 18 lbs 9 oz (50 percentile) and is 28.8 inches tall (95 percentile). The doctor was impressed with everything she can do. He thinks she will start crawling really soon. She really likes trying to stand on her own and is pulling up on everything she can. Just today she started walking when holding onto Aldo's fingers.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! We uploaded tons of pictures from our staycation. You can find them on the right of our web page.

Snow in March
What a good daddy to get up and build us a snowman
Julianna and I are working hard on this snowman. I know it doesn't look like it here, but she really enjoyed sitting outside in the cold watching daddy. I don't think she has sat that still in my lap in months.
Our snowman with champagne cork eyes, smashed cowboy hat and apple slices for lips and nose :)
I'm pretty sure Dallas has gotten record snow fall this winter. It was 70 degrees on Friday and snowing Saturday night. We are supposed to be back in the 70's by Tuesday. Texas just can't make up its mind! Aldo says all the snow is to get Julianna ready for trips to Michigan. Aldo was finally home to build us a snowman this time. He claimed to have only build 2-3 in his lifetime to try to get out of it, but I didn't believe him and told him to get out there and try ;) I think Julianna was one of the only 2009 Texas baby that didn't have a picture with a snowman. His Michigan snowman techniques wouldn't work because the snow wouldn't stick together but he managed to get one put together pretty quick.
Julianna is almost 9 months old and doing great!! Her new favorite thing is blowing raspberries. She thinks its so funny. She still isn't crawling but rolls around to get to whatever she needs. She tries so hard to crawl but can't get her knees under her correctly. As, I'm typing this she seems to have mastered getting herself to sitting up on her own. She has also learned to clap and wave. She is enjoying lots of new foods including spaghetti!! Our daughter is definitely Italian, she ate spaghetti and minestrone this week and loved it. She also loves taking a bath. She likes to rock back and forth while sitting up to see how big of waves she can make. She thinks it's so funny and cracks up at herself while I sit there with my hand on her back so nervous that she is going to fall over in the water :) We can't wait for it to get warm enough to go swimming. I think I may have a little fish on my hands.
Eating spaghetti for the first time :)
