37 Week Doctors Appt

I had my 37 week doctor's appointment yesterday and everything was great. My blood pressure was good and his heart rate was great. My doctor would still like to induce next Tuesday as he thinks it's the best thing for the both of us. We will decide on Monday if I have to go in Monday night to start the process or if I get to wait until Tuesday morning. We are so excited but have a lot to do before then. Grandma Jo and Auntie Ang are coming in on Sunday to help out, we can't wait for them to get here!

We had a rough week this past week as I was sent to the ER on Wednesday because my doctor was concerned I had a blood clot that had traveled to my lungs. I was having horrible chest pains and trouble breathing. After a cat scan, EKG and lots of blood work they thankfully did not find a clot. When I got home, I started having all the symptoms of the flu so my doctor said that's where all chest pains were coming from. I luckily got over it in 24 hours but Aldo wasn't so lucky and got it even worst the next day. I have never seen him so sick. We are happy and healthy again and getting so excited for next Tuesday! I can't believe we only have a week left!

Julianna 16-21 Months

So with all this talk about pregnancy I feel like Julianna has been left out of the blog. Julianna is now 21 months old and in the 100 percentile for her height. Hopefully she will be athletic and put that height to good use :) She loves to jibber jabber, she knows lots of words, play outside, say her animal sounds, play mommy with her babies and be Miss Independent. She thinks she can do almost anything on her own. She obviously doesn't know how her life is going to get flipped upside down in two weeks but she loves to kiss my belly and say baby. She might be begging for him to get back in my belly after a few weeks :)

When I started working again I stopped posting as often. I can't believe my last picture update was Halloween. I added two photo albums to our blog. Here are a few of my favorites

Mallory took pictures for us last November. We just love her and are so appreciative that she is so patient with Julianna. Here are a few, more are in the photo album on the right.

We had LOTS of snow days this year. We actually had 5 official school days off because of the snow. Julianna isn't really a fan. She didn't like the snow getting on her boots.

Enjoying lunch out with mommy and daddy

Fun at the park

My mom and I took her to the American Girl store over spring break to get her collection started. My mom and grandmother started these for me when I was little so it was a very special day taking my daughter to pick hers out.

Julianna absolutely loves being outside. She really enjoys her slide, kicking the soccer ball, and climbing on anything she can.

36 Week Doctors Appointment

We went in today for our 36 week ultrasound and doctors appointment. They think our little man is around 6 lbs 4 oz and is right on track for 36 weeks. They kept switching to 4D so we got to see great pictures of our little guy’s face. I’m not gonna lie, he is stinkin’ cute! I mean, look at that picture of him! And most importantly he is still a boy :). Everything looked good; he has plenty of fluid to stay comfy in there for a few more weeks.

My blood pressure was high again today. My doctor still thinks I just have gestational hypertension and not preeclampsia so I get to stay home. I tried to ask for more privileges around the house and got shot down. With the way my blood pressure has been, our doctor thinks it would be best, for me and baby, to deliver at 38 weeks. Right now the induction date is set for April 26th. It turns out that he will be born on almost the exact same time line as Julianna. We are praying that he will quickly develop and be happy and healthy. He also does not think I will go naturally any earlier so we have two weeks left to get ready to be a family of four.

In other news, Julianna started her new daycare today. We LOVED her previous daycare but with me not working it was really inconvenient to drive 20 minutes across town when we have a daycare less than a mile from our house. I broke my house arrest and went with her this morning. I’m pretty sure it was harder on mommy than it was on her. I have been able to watch her on their monitoring system and she seems to be having a lot of fun with her new friends and teachers. This new daycare will make it much easier on Aldo as he is the only one taking and picking her up these days and better for me once the baby is here and she goes a couple days a week. She has been such a trooper! I am really looking forward to Easter and watching her look for Easter eggs. Last year she didn’t understand what was going on but hopefully this year will be different. I even got my doctor to tell Aldo it was ok if I went out for Easter brunch. YAY for an outing!!

My next appointment is Monday so I’ll update y’all then! Love to everyone!

Good Doctors Appointment

It was such a relief getting good news at my check up today! My blood pressure was much closer to normal range and the doctor said he has high hopes I'll make it to at least 39 weeks. We went from getting steroids because the baby may need to be born at 34 weeks to my doctor now telling me he thinks I'm going to make it to the end. God has answered our prayers! Bed rest is working! I go in again next Monday and we will get to see our little man in our last ultrasound.

I'm on day 11 of bed rest and the first half was really tough. I suffered from fatigue after three days of little to no sleep but once I got past that, things have been much better. We spent this last weekend getting as much ready around the house as we can and by "we" I mean my sweet husband did all the work while I sat on the bed. He was so good to rearrange furniture three times until it was how I wanted it, go grocery shopping, and take care of our sweet Julianna since I'm not even aloud to lift her. She has become quite the daddy's girl!

We have been so blessed by such sweet friends and family bringing us dinner, send me magazines and books and volunteering to be on Julianna duty while Aldo is at his games. I have also had so many wonderful people stepping in for me at work. I was having a really tough time trying to do as much as I could from home but everyone at work has asked me to stop and let them handle it. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful work family!

I'll update y'all next week!

I'm free.....sort of

My protein test needed to come back at 300 or less and it was 183 WAHOO!!!!! I do not currently have preeclampsia but have a high risk of developing it. They gave me another steroid shot for his lungs and sent me on my way. I am now on strict bed rest with bathroom privileges, the ability to move from the bed to the couch and 5 minute on my feet for lunch, THAT'S IT! The most exciting part of my week will be going to the doctor. His goal is to keep him in until April 25th (38 weeks) but if my blood pressure keeps acting up he would be happy with 36-37 weeks. I may go crazy over the next 2-4 weeks but I have to keep reminding myself it's the best thing for our sweet baby.

PLEASE send me names of some good books. I'm going to have a lot of free time on my hands. Also keep your emails and text messages coming :)

Thank you SO much for all your love, support and prayers! They paid off! Keep the prayers coming! Please pray that he stays in a few more weeks and I don't go stir crazy :)

Ups and Downs of today

We have continued to see good blood pressure readings and a lack of other side effects our doctor was worried about. My doctor came in and told me as long as my 24 hour test urine test came back ok (we will know late this evening) that he would send me home TONIGHT-YIPPY!! We were very excited about that then I had an over zealous nurse come in and throw a wrench in the day. She thought that I might be leaking amniotic fluid and said I should stop eating and drinking just in case we have to get the baby out ASAP. Within 15 minutes they had me down in my doctors office so he could check and get an ultrasound to check on the amount of fluid around the baby. After three tests and an ultrasound they determine nothing was wrong. I did get to see our little man. They estimate he weighs around 5lbs and has long legs ( like Julianna). He is measuring 34 weeks 5 days so that is very good news since high blood pressure can lead to small babies. It was great to see him and how well he's developing.

Our last little hiccup was the fact that one of my tests said I wasn't eating enough carbs today. I thought I was being good ordering a salad, since all i'm doing is sitting on my butt all day, but NOPE! Got yelled at :) After being stuffed from lunch my nurse made me eat a whole meal AGAIN! I guess I would take that over all the other things they make you do, any day!

I am back in my room trying to keep busy. Luckily I have sweet family and friends who keep me busy with emails and funny text messages. I keep trying to work on school stuff but I'm getting scolded and told it's taken care of from my wonderful teammates :). And most important, Aldo has also been so sweet to be so encouraging, comforting me when I'm upset, bring me lunch and bringing Julianna up here to see me.

We will know more late tonight and I will update you all. Thank you for all your prayers and support!!

Bed rest 3/28

Here is what I know so far....

As many of you know the doctor admitted me into the hospital at about 5:00 today. They told me best case I will go home Wed/Thurs with strict bed rest, next option would be hospital bed rest for 2-3 weeks and then the worst option is I will be induced Tue/Wed because things are not good and they need to get the baby out. They have given me steroids to help the baby develop faster. Several of the tests are 24 hour tests so I will not know anything until tomorrow evening. Thank you for your continued prayers and offers to help!!!
